EMILIE LONGACRE is best remembered as the 1950 Miss Pennsylvania entry in the Miss America pageant. After being named Miss Chester County, she sang You're My Everything to win the state title. A talented vocalist, Emilie Longacre was already working professionally when she won the title, as evidenced by her being booked at Chubby's Cafe, just outside of Camden, New Jersey in February of 1950. Columnist Hedda Hopper reported in August of that year that Miss Longacre was to appear in the television show "Lights Out" as a nurse, this however either did not take place or her role was not credited.

Emilie Longacre was born around 1932 in Pennsylvania. She appears in the 1940 Census as Emily Longacre, the daughter of Walter and Anna Longacre of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He had an older brother, Howard, who was 12 at the time of the Census. Her father was working as a Phoenixville policeman at the time of the census.

Emilie Longacre's apparently did not have a long career in show business. She married in the mid-1950s and as of December 2013 lives with her husband in New York.

Bob Eberly appeared at Chubby's Cafe on Mt. Ephraim Avenue and Collings Road on the first two weekends in January of 1950. Also on the bill at Chubbys on those dates were The Four Blues with Arthur Davey and the house orchestra, and the Frank Virtuoso Band, perhaps better known somewhat later as Frank Virtue and the Virtues. Over the next six weeks the Frank Virtuoso Band shared the stage with Savannah Churchill, June Christy, Art Lund, Bill Darnel, Dick Todd, Billy Hays, Eve Young, Emilie Longacre, Artie Russell's New Yorkers, and the Doles Dickens Quintet.
