TRUMAN FERRELL "HARRY" MAPLES was born in Wolfe City, Texas on July 8, 1938. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Corry DD-817 from 1957 through 1959 as an ICFN (Fireman, Interior Communications Electrician Striker).

Truman Maples was appointed to the Camden Fire Department, and graduated from Fire Academy in July of 1964. He was assigned to Engine Company 11 in the Cramer Hill section of Camden. After a few years he resigned and moved back to Texas. He did stay in touch with several of his companions from Engine 11.

Truman Ferrell Maples passed away in Texas on April 3, 2012. He had been suffering from a heart condition prior to his passing.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall with Barry Morris officiating.

July 8, 1938 - April 3, 2012

Truman Ferrell Maples, age 73, passed away at his home on April 3, 2012. He was a member of the Ennis Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. 

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Maples of Palmer; son, Shawn Maples and his wife, Lisa of Haslet; two daughters, Kelli Ders and her husband Ronnie of Rockwall and Dawn Shaul and her husband Danny of Grand Prairie; sister, Trudy Miller of Elmo; grandchildren, Steven Michael Hoffman, Stephanie Shaul, Garrett Maples, Cody Shaul, and Dylan Maples.,
