PATRICK M. O'KEEFE was born in 1945 to Francis and Eleanor O'Keefe. The O'Keefe family was living at 1043 Mechanic Street when the 1943 City Directory was compiled. Francis O'Keefe was then working at the John R. Evans & Company leather factory in North Camden. The family, which included sisters Anna and Lucille, was still living at 1043 Mechanic Street when the 1947 Directory was compiled.

After serving with the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam, Patrick O'Keefe returned to Camden. On January 17, 1968 he was appointed to the Camden Fire Department, where he served for almost 29 years, retiring as a Captain. During his time with the Fire Department he served as the Captain of Rescue Company 1. He retired on November 11, 1996.

Patrick M. O'Keefe, on January 6, 2014, of West Deptford. Age 68. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Margerum), formerly Rigilano. Devoted father of Robert T. McCarthy (Dawn), Michael W. McCarthy, LuAnn Gately and Kathy Spellman (Sean) and loving step-father of James, "Goddaughter" Gina, Jeffrey, Joseph, Sharon and Renee. Loving grandfather of Brittany, Michael, Brianna, Lindsey and Bob. Son of the late Francis and Eleanor O'Keefe. Dear brother of Lucille O'Keefe and the late Anna Wrobel. Dear son-in-law of Anna Margerum-Bafundo. Brother-in-law of Lynn Otto (Wayne). Step-grandfather of 12. Patrick served as a corporal in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a retired Captain of 29 years with the Camden City Fire Dept., assigned to Rescue 1. Patrick was very active with St. John of God School. There will be visitation from 10 to 11am Friday morning at St. Joan of Arc RC Church, 3107 Alabama Rd., Fairview, NJ. Memorial Mass 11am in church. Interment private. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Patrick's memory to St. John of God, Community Services, C/O Sr. Kathy McShane Emergency Fund, 1145 Delsea Dr., Westville Grove, NJ 08093.
