MARTIN JAMES LOWTHER came to Camden sometime after 1947. The 1956 New Jersey Bell Telephone Directory shows that he resided at 1574 Minnesota Road in Camden's Fairview neighborhood. He was still at that address when on June 1, 1963 he was appointed to the City of Camden's police and fire communications department, to work as a signal system operator. He reported for duty on June 3, 1963.

Martin Lowther's last day of work was March 3, 1968. He died at West Jersey Hospital on April 12, 1968.
