FIREMAN FIRST CLASS HARRY W. TRACE JR. was lost when the aircraft carrier USS Bismarck Sea was attacked on February 21, 1945. He had joined the navy in November of 1943, and had gone overseas in April of the following year. 

     Harry Trace was survived by his parents, three sisters, Ida Trace, Helen Trace, and Mrs. Harold Taylor, and a brother Jesse Trace. His father was a rural mail carrier.  His death was reported in the March 27, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.
