CORPORAL LENARD E. RUGGLES was born on August 19, 1918. He originally was from Clementon NJ. He was a graduate of Haddon Heights (NJ) High School. Prior to being inducted into the United States Army, he had married, and moved to Atlantic City NJ, where he was the assistant manager at an 5 & 10 cent store. After Lenard Ruggles was inducted into the Army, he was assigned to the 175th Infantry regiment, 29th Infantry Division. He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was killed in action on September 1, 1944. Lenard Ruggles was survived by his wife Esther, of Atlantic City NJ. He was brought home after the war. He was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ on July 14, 1948. |
