CORPORAL GALEAZZO J. CIANCI of Clementon NJ was born on May 10, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Cianci. He lived at 143 Garfield Ave in Clementon NJ. He enlisted in the United States Army, and had qualified for flight duty. Galeazzo Cianci was killed when the B-26 bomber he was in crashed shortly after take-off during a training flight originating from Barksdale Field LA on October 23, 1944. He was survived by his parents, and several brothers and sisters, including Staff Sergeant Nicholas Cianci, then serving with the Air Transport Command in India. Corporal Cianci's death was reported in the October 28, 1944 edition on the Camden Courier-Post. A mass was said for him at St Lawrence Church in Lindenwold NJ, and funeral services were held in Clementon. He was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ on October 25, 1944. |
