The PUSTILNIK Family Tree

        What I know about the origins of this family is somewhat sketchy. They were from Linitz, presently called Ilintsy, in the Ukraine, west of Kiev. Daughter Yetta may have come to America first, with her husband Sam Kasminsky. Sam did very well for himself in the USA, owning his own factory, manufacturing specialty fabric trimmings. Daughter Schifre cam to the USA in 1904 with her husband Morris Feinberg. Shortly thereafter the patriarch of the family, Eliezer Pustilnik died, and in 1907 the widow Sura Freide Pustilnik came to the USA, to stay with the Feinberg family at 55 Orchard Street in Brooklyn. Zise Pustilnik came to the USA about the same time, accompanied by daughter Anna. The rest of Zise's family arrived in 1911. Bu this time Zise was living down the street from the Feinberg's at 4 Orchard Street. Zise went into the business of buying and selling horsehair and by 1920 he was living on Snediker Street in Brooklyn. Sometime in this era Morris Feinberg died, and Schifre, or Sophie as she was known in the USA, married Eli Pack.
       It is very possible that Eliezer Pustilnik had at least two to four other sons, with their children emigrating to other parts of the world. I have met, spoken and corresponded with Pustilniks from Ilintsy who live in Mexico, Canada, Russia, and Israel. The son of Itzak Pustilnik from Ilintsy, who was known as Jack Pearl in Canada, was about the same age as Zise Pustilnik's children. A Nahum Pustilnik, also from Ilintsy, had two sons who emigrated to Mexico and started families there. A Pustilnik relative named Morris Pearlman was living in the Boston area at least up until about 1960. All this bears further research.
