DVRBS.COM - Senior Dog Adoption

In the spring of 2004 I more or less inherited two small dogs. A few months later, I was made aware that while puppies are adopted, oftentimes older dogs are not, and after a time euthanized. Being an old dog myself, I decided that there was room in my heart and room in my home for another dog, a "Senior Citizen" dog. That decision has literally changed my life, and all for the better. I thought I knew a few things... it took a one-eyed, overweight pug-pekingese-chihuahua mix to show me, then pushing 50, some things that are REALLY important in life.

DVRBS.COM was already up and running in 2002. The people involved in this site added the promotion of Senor Dog Adoption to the community services aspect of the non-profit organization that operates the website.

On this page you will find links to pages about my dog family and to other sites of interest about dogs, both local and national. Comments, suggestions, and material to add to the these websites are very much appreciated, which is to say, I've started this, but YOU are more than welcome to be a part of it.

Thank you for visiting this page. If you have room in your house and your heart for an older dog, consider adopting one. If adoption isn't practical, please support you local animal shelter.

One last thing about those older dogs... they DO learn new tricks... and they just may teach you a few things too!
