DAVID A LUMMIS was born on May 25, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and lived in Collingswood, New Jersey. where he attended high school prior to going into the United States Navy on February 11, 1969. Sent to Vietnam, he was lost both of his legs after stepping on a land mine. He was sent home and his dog in Vietnam, Buddha, was shipped to him in the United States. After being discharged from the Navy on June 18, 1971, he returned to South Jersey. He last lived in Sicklerville, New Jersey.

On October 4, 1982 David Allen Lummis passed away. His death was attributed to exposure to Agent Orange. David A. Lummis is memorialized on the Collingswood, New Jersey War Memorial in Knight Park, Collingswood.
