Stern & Company, a department store chain, opened up its thirteenth store in Camden NJ in 1950, at 840 Broadway, which for many years had been the home of the Pinsky Store, operated by Harry Pinsky and his family. On June 1, 1950 the Pinsky Store reopened as the thirteenth store in the Stern department store chain, founded in 1897 by Louis Stern, Leon Levy, and Louis Schneider. Stern & Company remained open at that location into the 1960s. |
