Tribbett Sr.

ROSCOE CURTIS TRIBBETT SR. was born in Delaware on June 28, 1893. By 1910 his father had died. When the census was taken in 1910 he was living with his mother Laura and younger siblings Emma and Elmer at 17 South 9th Street in Camden, New Jersey. Roscoe Tribbett was working at the McAllister coal yard at that time. His mother died in Philadelphia in 1911.

The 1915 City Directory shows that Roscoe Tribbett had married. He was living with his wife Elizabeth at 327 Chester Street. Still working at the coal yard, he was working as a truck driver. The Tribbets moved to 1190 Penn Street by the time the 1916 was compiled. By the January of 1920 the Tribbets had three daughters. Nine more children would follow,

Parlaying his skill as a truck driver, Roscoe Tribbett secured an appointment to the Camden Fire Department in 1920. In September of that year he was assigned to Engine Company 1. He resigned from the Fire Department on July 13, 1924.

The Tribbet family was still at 1190 Penn Street as late as 1930. Politically active as a Democrat in Camden's Second Ward, Rocoe Tribbett secured an appointment as a laborer in Camden's city government by 1939. He was still in this post in 1942, which appears to have been attached to the Fore Department's Electrical bureau.

By 1942 they had moved to 1031 Carpenter Street.

Last a resident of 646 Cedar Street, Roscoe Tribbett died on February 16, 1966, survived by his twelve children. He was buried at Sunset Memorial Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
