Dr. William
S.
Jones

DR. WILLIAM S. JONES was born in Elmer NJ in 1856. He graduated medial school in 1878 and after practicing in Millville for four years, came to Camden. He soon made a name for himself, despite his young age, in medical and political circles, establishing a lucrative practice at 201 Broadway.

Dr. Jones was elected to City Council as a Republican from Camden's Fourth Ward in 1889, but refused to stand for re-election. In 1894 he was named County Physician for Camden County.

Dr. Jones passed away on June 8, 1920, survived by his wife, the former Ida Ford.
