CHARLES H. CORNOG was born in Pennsylvania in April of 1856. He married in early 1883. His wife bore a daughter Annie in December of that year. A son Albert Cornig came in 1886. The family moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey by 1892 when daughter Margarite was born. Sons Andrew, and Charles and a daughters Ruth were later born. Charles Cornog worked as house painter until appointed to the Camden Police Department by then-Mayor Cooper B. Hatch.

The 1900 Census shows Charles Cornog and family at  817 Division Street. The family then consisted of Charles and Mary Cornog, Annie Cornog, Albert Cornog, Marguerite Cornog and Ruth Cornog.

Charles Cornog passed away on June 13, 1910 at his home,  810 South 8th Street, Camden, New Jersey. His son, Albert Cornog, began his career with the Camden Police Department on June 17, 1910, and was still active in 1949, at the rank of Captain.
