CARLO LOMBARDO was born in Pignataro Maggiore, Caserta, Italy on November 26, 1888. He came to the United States in 1907. He came to Camden after the compilation of the 1914 Camden City Directory. 

When he registered for the draft on June 5, 1917 Carlo Lombardo was living with at 326 Spruce Street in South Camden. He was then working as a laborer at the nearby Farr & Bailey oil cloth works. He served in the military during World War I. By January of 1920 he had returned to Camden, married, and his wife Mary had bore a son, Chester Lombardo, late in 1919. The family then lived at 539 South 2nd Street. Carlo Lombardo became a naturalized citizen right after New Years Day, 1920.

By 1924 Carlo Lombardo had been appointed to the Camden Fire Department. He was then living at 225 Royden Street, and he satyed their through 1927. By the end of 1928 and through at least April of 1930 the Lomabrdo family lived at 1250 Sheridan Street. By the time the Census was taekn in April of that year, the five children, oldest son Chester being joined by Joseph, Teresa, Paulina, and Carlo. Fire Department records from 1931 show the family had moved to 1342 Sheridan Street. By the end of 1939 they had moved to 268 Mount Vernon Street. Carlo Lombardo was still on active duty with the Camden Fire Department when the 1940 Camden City Directory was compiled.

When he again registered for the draft in the spring of 1942, Carlo Lombardo had already retired from the Camden Fire Department. He was living with his wife Mary at 6202 Mansion Avenue in Pennsauken, New Jersey. The Lombardo family was not at the Mansion Avenue address when the October 1956 New Jersey Bell Telephone Directory was published.
