August
Scholl

AUGUST SCHOLL was born on July 24, 1883 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not much is known of his early life. He was not living in Camden when the 1910 Census was taken. In 1911 he was reported in the Philadelphia Inquirer to have completed a real estate transaction involving 1207 Decatur Street. He does not, however appear at that address in the 1914 City Directory, and his son Frank was born in Pennsylvania during this time. By September of 1918 however Augustus Scholl had moved to 1207 Decatur Street. This would be his address through at least the end of 1924.

Draft and census records from these years give his occupation as carpenter and wharf builder. By the end of 1923, however, August Scholl had been appointed to the Camden Fire Department.

August Scholl is not listed in the 1927 or 1929 Camden City Directories, or the 1930 Census. By 1931 he was living at 334 West Plymouth Street in Inglewood, California.

August Scholl passed away in California on April 24, 1945.
